I'm a second year graduate student at SUNY New Paltz's General Psychology program. I'm Chinese-American fluent in both Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese) and English. I have a strong interest in statistic and research method; in fact, they are, along with intro to psychology, the classes that got me "hooked" on psychology and started my research career at Sophomore year. The term I came across later that could best describe my interests is "empirical methodologist", I think my interests are consistent with my passion for the art of deduction.
I'm also a sport enthusiast especially soccer, basketball, and table pool (if you consider it a sport, which I certainly do).
I'm currently working on my literature review thesis on achievement motivation and will likely pursuit Ph.D in Quantitative Psychology in the near future.
I have a broad interest in research topics. These are the topics that I have recently reviewed the literature for:
- Quantitative design and measurement
- The role of phonological loop of working memory in language acquisition
- The effects of Singlism in our society
- Self-regulatory learning
- Cross-cultural Psychology:
- The process of identity development
- The process of Acculturation
